Summer into fall . . .

Next Friends of Pike Lake Event:
Community Campfire and Concert featuring Randy Peterson
Saturday, September 13, 7:00 - 9:00 pm

Randy Peterson returns to delight young and old alike with his "laugh-along, sing-along, dance-along" concerts.  Adults will have a hard time deciding if watching Randy or watching the youngsters is more entertaining.

A roaring bonfire, festive lighting and refreshments add to the fun.  Blankets and lawn chairs are welcome for this lawn seating event.  The event is free to all, but a State Parks and Forests system parking sticker is required (available at the event).

Randy performs just north of the beach parking lot, just over the little hill.  Candles will light the way.  In the event of rain, the concert moves under cover to a nearby shelter.

As they do every year, our friends from the Northern Cross Science Foundation will be on hand with their telescopes to help attendees view stars and planets.  For more astronomy information, see their web page at http://www.ncsf.info/

We hope to see you there.  Bring your friends, your children if you have them and your friends' children!

Please remember that the Friends group welcomes all new members any time.  You can get information at the Pike Lake DNR office or by clicking the "Join" link at the top of the page.  Coming up through the end of summer, the local DNR staff, with some funding support from Friends of Pike Lake,  have arranged a series of exciting program for visitors.
